Orienteering 1:31:27 [4] 10.7 km (8:33 / km) +270m 7:35 / km
ahr:141 max:147 shoes: X-Talon 200

Bloom Wood - Brown 9.2k 270m 28 controls, no punch reg at 22!
Physically the terrain was ideal for me, not too hilly, plenty of brashings and technical contouring. Experimented with gels. Took one before starting and another after an hour going to 20, when pace/strength started flagging. Pace did pick up in last 10 mins despite hamstring tightness, which might be as much to do with easier terrain.
1. 60s, not sure why I was offline, perhaps fitting vague thickets from terrain back to map.
8. 1.30 - was close initially, then started to fitting vague slow run to terrain. Poor control site by common consent.
10 to 21 - ran strongly and cleanly on some physical terrain.
22. 3.00 - cut in late, then got drawn to a thicket even further away (125m).
26. Saw tiny thicket and ignored it, until Mel pointed back at it- definitely on wrong thicket so was lucky.
For an average technical race, result was 5 mins quicker relative to others than expected. Getting back into respectable shape, at least on this type of terrain.
HR very steady with no dip in the later part.

Warm Up 8:00 [1] 0.7 km (11:26 / km)
shoes: X-Talon 200

Jog to start & almost token stretches.

Note

Over the last 7+ days have acquired muscle pain in mid-back that went up to upper back by the w/e. Think morning stretching may have aggravated what feel like micro-tears, and swimming probably didn't help either. Wonder if electrolytes are out of balance?

Orienteering 1:10:30 [3] 7.6 km (9:17 / km) +140m 8:30 / km

LVS - Score
Still tired from the SGL3D, plus the weekend and had 9.75hrs sleep. Ambled round without taking tech seriously, or it turned out time keeping. 50mins would have been perfect rather than 70. Did at least keep HR low and hopefully will fully recover by Sunday. Colin's course took us into a lot of newly cleared disjointed stripes within the gorse.

Warm Up 10:00 [1]

Tight in lots of places, so was cautious and conservative when stretching.
