Orienteering race 1:14:25 [3] 9.05 km (8:13 / km) +210m 7:22 / km
ahr:152 weight:72.6lbs shoes: X-Talon 200

Eartham Wood - Short Brown 8.3k 200m (230m per details)
Went dead straight on 17 legs and almost straight on all but leg 10.
9. 1.15 - Should have paused at CP to read map that appeared unclear was fine. Poor control site, supposedly on veg boundary when none existed on ground, which had nothing to do with error.
10. With hindsight I would go N again and attack veg bound from 250m away.
19. 1.30 - was low coming towards it and despite open area to gauge height climbed 1.5 contours too high.
22. 40s - thought unmarked newly felled area was the rough open, realised then stood for 10s 15m from control wondering why it wasn't there.
Best physical performance for awhile and found redlining in the terrain kept HR not far below threshold. Walked parts of the uphill slog back N where there was low veg. Not sure HR on watch of 152 was correct, but feel sure threshold HR is beginning to climb back to pre-afib levels.

Warm Up 6:00 [1]

Bare minimum.

Orienteering 30:33 [3] 3.25 km (9:24 / km) +120m 7:56 / km
ahr:141 max:158 shoes: X-Talon 200

St Martha's Hill - Short Green 2.6k 120m
Tried to keep the effort down and save myself for tomorrow but still couldn't resist picking up the pace on the short contouring legs on the N slope.
1. 45s - didn't slow enough to focus on the map. Need to learn that eyesight takes time to adjust to O glasses.
5. 45s - took easy running training route rather than nailing on compass- familiarity!

Warm Up 8:00 [2]

Fast walk to the top and just made to start at 13.00, plus brief stretching.
5 PM

Swimming 11:00 [2] 0.4 km (27:30 / km)

Lido 8 x 50m Concentrated on staying relaxing and expelling breath. No issues with rib cage, not that I expected any.

Orienteering 46:00 [3] 6.3 km (7:18 / km) +70m 6:55 / km
ahr:146 shoes: X-Talon 200

Bordon - Harris Relays - 2nd (1st Civvy team) with Peter & Paul
Had 21 extra controls and my calculation was 5(me), 8 the others or 6,7,8
I got the easiest 7 (except one was on the wrong side of the pipe) and fiinished last by 3 mins.
1. 30s overshot.
4. 3 mins, took wrong path that Paul was ahead on (going to another control) in tank track area and relocated in wrong open area.
Had I not stuffed up 4, the we would all have finished within a minute, which was still a long way off 1st place.
HR 3 beats up on recent best, due to pressure/mainly paths/higher temp/short course.

Warm Up 10:00 [1]

Legs still weak in terrain but no longer tight, should be good by weekend.
