Orienteering 12:00 [3] 1.5 km (8:00 / km)
(injured)

Long Valley SW - BAOC - 3/4 leg individual relay - Started 3 leg
Started leg B and running initially at wu pace , just before control 7, calf went - quite bad as struggled to walk and in same place as last year's injury. Borrowed a coldlpack from Elizabeth Dickson not icy but helpful only 20 mins post injury, difficult to drive. Nearly had cramp in same spot last night, even added heel inserts for first time this year due to stony hard ground. But other than this no warning signs of calf problems.

Last night I felt I'd achieved my 10 mile TT target for the year, as good a time as any to take a break.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Glutes and hamstrings aching so took longer than normal to get loose enough to run.

Cycling race 25:28 [5] 10.0 mi (2:33 / mi) +75m 2:29 / mi
ahr:163 max:167 shoes: Giant A1

FRC - 10 mile TT - H10/8 Bentley Course - 25.28 PB by 31s - 9 mph SW headwind (felt less) 41st from 61 (times same)
Was in two minds whether to ride as I felt I'd not recovered from w/e, expecting 26.15. Started very fast (two gears lower than usual) and reached HR of 166 within 60s. 18s up at 2 miles, 36s up at 8 miles. Hill training seems to have helped. Earlier today I figured 25 might be my limit on this course and another side of me was saying why mentally set limits to improvement.Got my answer - definitely the latter. HR average 4 beats higher, suggesting THR is going up as muscles get more used to TT position. Beat Michelle by 14s, had hoped to be 60s plus behind!
Right arm tingling for most of ride, but no neck pain.
Good turnout from WM & CCC, next to last week on H10/8.

Cycling warm up/down 20:00 [3] 5.5 mi (3:38 / mi)
shoes: Giant A1

Note

Great triathlon training possibility this Wednesday evening at Pirbright Village Green. CCC 10 mile TT starts from junction of A324 and B3032 at 6.45 followed by SN 45 min score event at the opposite end of the Green starts from 7.00 to 7.30 (possibly later).. Transition where CCC parking is at Village Hall on Green 500m from cycling and 100m from O. Ooops, just realised the finish is 2.5 miles from the Green - warm down?
