Walking 3:12:00 [3] 13.3 km (14:26 / km) +930m 10:42 / km

Snowdon via Ryhd-Ddu path with the children & dog. We all made it up on a glorious clear day. Pembrokshire (v clear) & Ireland were visible.Ran down 2/3 on the grass & flatter rocky path. Knees not recovered yet. Piece of cake compared to Rhinogs. Best day of holiday.

Walking hills 2:22:00 [2] 7.7 km (18:26 / km) +250m 15:52 / km
ahr:91 max:115

N Rhinogs Day 2 OMM Training - Poured from dawn so took the optimum route back, dropping down 400m from our col to a valley to the west and back up a valley & through a col through to the east. C thoroughly enjoyed day 2 unilke day 1.

Walking 3:00:00 [2] 9.6 km (18:45 / km) +785m 13:19 / km
ahr:92 max:125

N Rhinogs Day 1 OMM Training - 2nd hour was toughest terrain I've traversed. Random angular rocks overlaid on storm soaked mini hillocks covered in very deep billberries, heather & ferns.Did an exhausting mile in an hour.
Found a tiny patch to pitch tent just in time for nightfall. C's first night under canvas and he didn't enjoy a tiny tent to put it mildlly.

Running hills 5:00 [4] 0.35 km (14:17 / km) +50m 8:20 / km

World's Steepest Street at 37.6%. Ran it at walking pace on my toes and calf was fine- yeah!

Orienteering race 53:55 [3] 4.7 km (11:28 / km) +170m 9:43 / km
ahr:147 max:166

BAOC Long Valley SE - Green 4.7k Very Wet! Lost best part of 13 mins
No compass today and glasses were pretty useless by 7.
S-7 clean, double checking to ensure I didn't lose contact anywhere.
8 left at an angle and found unmarked path (checked moss for direction!) that took me through green until I was 150m past control, asked to relocate -4mins.
9 quickest by some margin, RC meant attacking from behind!
10 laces & glsses 30s.
11 glasses 60s.
12 Within 10m lost 4.30 - ouch.
14. Glasses 20s
F - left control & lost direction dropping wrong way off ridge 2 mins!

Running hills 57:00 [3] 7.1 km (8:02 / km) +350m 6:26 / km
ahr:128 max:148

Chantries hilly run with C. Died after only 30mins, C stayed strong running when I was walking on the steeper sections. Felt v tired when waking and it helped having company.

St Martha's - 120, 50, 100, 40, 70m hills.
Hamstrings & calves no longer feeling vulnerable which shows body is adapting.
New trail trainers, decent grip but not light & flexible like O shoes- though good cushioning for injury prevention

Orienteering 39:30 [4] 4.5 km (8:47 / km) +70m 8:09 / km
ahr:151 max:160

Rushmoor Arena BAOC - Green
Annual problem of starting w/o glasses. Couldn't see map in the forest, and lost 5.30. Almost all was in the circles, especially 8 (1.15), 17 (2.15).
HR close to TH for much of run, a very healthy sign that training is paying dividends.

Warm Up 10:00 [2] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)

Short wu.

HMS-Rudgwick-Wisgh Green-Hascombe
Legs felt good, first time since May. Had a tight deadline for kids taxi run and made it back on the dot- just! Immune system has been run down for far too long. Very odd timing to feel better. Hope it lasts.
