Tail end Charlie on a hilly group ride. Got dropped at least 10 times. Thankfully kept my head and paced myself and legs were OK on the final 15% climb. Some fit guys today. Another confidence booster and a good training week.

SN Training Horsell - Weird coincidence, after 40 plus years of O, I've not witnessed anyone having to retire through a fall. C was on a different course and tripped heavily on a tree root on a path, whilst I was 20m away heading towards the same spot. Looked as though he'd been in a fight.

Out to Staples and Coombe, took them slowly and legs were fine, then HMP, & W Clandon.
Confidence booster, and good end to a day when most things went wrong.

Failed to keep HR down yet again (under the weather last 48hrs). Ended at TH through Shalford.
Had saddle higher and further back, which was far better pulling up through deadspot. Certainly part of the reason fitness has been slow coming back.

GO WOD Puttenham - Green
2 - 2.15 lost going between the ponds to Batty Wood.
10 - 10s pausing to see clearing near pit.
Without 2, it would have been 8 min/k, which was far far quicker than I had expected. Just kept a steady tempo. Both calves were unused to the low heel on studded shoes.

Failed in keeping HR down. A decent pace, started to die with 5 to go. A good circuit. Still miles off where I was in 2017. At least I discovered 2 changes are required to fit that should help.

Bagshot SN Training - Set off with C & Steve Mac at a jog/walk and was soon close to race pace when my competitive spirit kicked in. The whole area was covered in heavy brashings. Lost a good 90s on 7, but otherwise a tidy run consider the crap on the ground. Fell over, and only afterwards discovered my R big toe was badly swollen and turning black back at home (soft toed trainers). First real run since February.
