Cycling 14:40 [2] 3.6 mi (4:04 / mi) +30m 3:58 / mi
ahr:120 max:133 shoes: Giant Defy 1

Flat route to park & ride and back, quiet wet roads. Iced afterwards.

Monday Dec 30, 2013 #

Note

Calf sore during the night but none of the usual inflammation today.

Saturday Dec 28, 2013 #

Rehab 10:00 [2]

Aqua Running 20:00 [3]

Flotation belt broke, took a few mins to avoid grazing feet too heavily on 1.2m deep pool bottom and putting strain on calf. Had to stop after 5 mins, knackered arms! and sore calf. Then 4 x 3 mins 40s off. Worked up a good sweat.

74.8 kgs, not a pretty sight!

Stretching/extensions 10:00 [1]

Thursday Dec 26, 2013 #

Walking 50:00 [1]

Started near Shalford Meadows and into town via half blocked weirs, beached boats and found the high water mark. The lock gate was left closed!

Stretching/extensions 10:00 [1]

Dynamic stretching throughout the day when sitting down for a long time.

Wednesday Dec 25, 2013 #

12 AM

Note

00.40am walk around and down St Martha's, beautiful clear stary night, floodlit church - worth it for the walk alone.

Walking 20:00 [1]

Xmas eve fast walk into town. Also went to the rising river Wey, only 0.22m below the record height, all the car parks under water. Chaos on the roads, 3 main roads closed, extra shoppers due to power cuts to south.

11.20pm - very fast walk up St Martha's, just made it to my first midnight service.
No injury issues today. Two car collison directly in front of me at broken 8 lane Stoke traffic lights - luck still in.

Monday Dec 23, 2013 #

Note

First day in a dire month when I've been able to work and concentrate for a whole 6 hours. Whilst late evening shopping thought it's time my luck changed. Got home, started taking bags out of the car when there was a huge crack and a 20m tree across the road crashed harmlessly sideways, just missing a line of cars. Sort of luck I like!

Calf sore from yesterday, hopeful this time my luck's in and it will take only a matter of days.

Warm Up 10:00 [1]

Spinning 10:00 [1]
ahr:110 max:122

100 to 120W at normal cadence. Spin room locked fgsake, nobody will nick them.

Rehab 10:00 [2]

Aqua Running 10:00 [2]

Wrecked in both senses, pelvis and neck went out of alignment yesterday and groin/ lower abdominals were bad but worse now pelvis has gone.
Decided before rigormortis set in, I'd go the gym and see what I could do without making calf worse. On a positive note the moment I put the flotation belt on it felt like the perfect exercise, provided I only do one of the three movements. Tore calf a couple of years ago in the pool so I've avoided it until now. Icing as a precaution.

Tuesday Dec 17, 2013 #

Note

Saw the doctor ("stress"), can't believe the cheek, he told me to get some exercise. First it's my daughter and then the doctor, next it will be the wife.

Sunday Dec 15, 2013 #

Note

Gone again, a few hurried none-walking steps trying to keep the kids in sight. Must be a case of too much inflexible scar tissue. Need a miracle to be cycling slowly in 3 weeks time.

Saturday Dec 14, 2013 #

Orienteering 28:00 [1] 2.6 km (10:46 / km) +30m 10:11 / km

Mytchett - SN Schools League - Shadowing C (first course for a year)
C was larking about until big sister caught us and he became so competitive he was forgetting to read the map. He thoroughly enjoyed it and wants to go next week, it might have something to do with outrunning and map reading N - mission accomplished.

Friday Dec 13, 2013 #

Note

10 mins US, plus 10 mins with no current!

Thursday Dec 12, 2013 #

Note

Evening walk up St Martha's. 10 mins US. Have had usual micro muscle twitching for the last week that indicates healing has been jump started. Sometimes wonder whether the massaging of the ultrasound probe is perhaps the only beneficial part of US.

Wednesday Dec 11, 2013 #

Stretching/extensions 10:00 [1]

Rolling raises. 10 mins US.

Monday Dec 9, 2013 #

Note

10 mins US.

Sunday Dec 8, 2013 #

Walking 1:40:00 [1] 5.0 mi (20:00 / mi) +250m 17:19 / mi

Broadmoor - Pasture Wood - Holmbury St Mary - Friday Street. Good paced walk with the children. 10 mins US.
Progress I think, oddly just one pinpoint in calf that is very painful to press on, but painless most of the time.

Saturday Dec 7, 2013 #

Walking 40:00 [1] 2.0 mi (20:00 / mi) +120m 16:51 / mi

Polesdon Lacey & Ranmore. 10 mins US.

Friday Dec 6, 2013 #

Stretching/extensions 10:00 [1]

Rolling raises. 10 mins US.

Wednesday Dec 4, 2013 #

Note

Unfortunately this calf injury is not healing at a normal rate and it was probably worse than I thought it was. N needs to ride to a new school and will need me to accompany her for the first few days, which gives me a target to get mobile again and a reason to ride very slowly as well!
