Club social ride - Milford-Fittleworth-Cold W-Amberley(cafe)-Bury-Selham-Jobson-Shillinglee
Was 90% certain I over the virus. So glad I went today. Felt better as the ride went on. Waited for the slowest rider 5k from the end and then wound it up.
Recorded highest ever cycling HR of 172!!! that built steadily over last 5 mins. 6 higher than best in 2019, and 2 over previous highest in 2013 on a hot summer's evening.
Clearly in excellent cardio shape.

Note

Just discovered TT I had to drop out of today, was cancelled due to forecast 40mph wind. I might yet get another crack at getting sub-24 in 2019.

Note
(rest day)

Virus isn't going as quickly as hoped, so dropped out of Saturday afternoon's TT on the mega fast E2/10 course that I somehow got onto the start list of. A dead cert PB in average conditions. Next year...

Took the plunge and bought some heavily discounted MM/bikepacking kit, with the aim of topping it up cheaply during the off season.

Fighting something off and decided not to join group ride as planned.

6.20, 7.20, 6.20 (2min off) intervals over VCGH TT course, at race pace. Remembered HRM, managed to forget Garmin!
Been unusually drained since Sunday.

Cycling race 1:01:51 [5] 25.0 mi (2:28 / mi) +130m 2:26 / mi

25 mile TT - F2a/25 course. PB by 2.23!!! 13 W (headwind), 20 degs, 1024mb
Finally achieved ambition to beat my age for a 25. Based on last week's 10, my predicted time based on the same two course a week apart 2 years ago was a 62.33. However the conditions were poorer this year. I think I held back too much last time. That said, I did a none-wind assisted 30s negative split today. It helped knowing the final wind assisted return leg would literally flyby.
Average at far RAB, 6.5 miles 21.5, RAB at 12.6 miles 24.1, at 19 miles 23.5, for 25 miles 24.3. Last 10 (4 into wind, 6 behind), 30s quicker than last week's PB!
Very fast course, lost 15s and 10s queuing at far RAB.

Cycling 29:00 [3] 8.75 mi (3:19 / mi) +50m 3:15 / mi

Left HRM in car- fail. Got to start with time to spare- success. Got clipped in 3s late, and thankfully held longer by the starter!

A246 - 15+ short efforts, plus 1 x 2min in full TT set up.
Have good vibes for w/e attempt to significantly improve 25 mile PB.

Chilled recovery Ride - Albury-Leith Hill, via Hoe Lane-Friday St (pint)-Chilworth
Some niggles in legs, so kept HR down, and successfully too for a change!

10 mile TT P881R Utag - 38s PB!!! 17 degs, 10 N wind, 1024mb
Started with 10s to "spare," in wrong gear too, to peels of laughter as I almost came to a halt after the push off. Garmin failed too, so no feedback, but must have judged pace right. Discovered I had no rear light on furthest point of warm up and detoured to CP.

E Horsley - legs not great, not recovered from holiday, so cut session short.
Hope they recover for the w/e Open TT, though have my doubts.

Swimming 20:00 [2] 0.7 km (28:34 / km)

SSP(25) - Only manged 25s and 50s. Not with it, but legs felt better for it as usual.

U-turn at Staples so back tracked (closed for car hill climb)-Newlands-Coombe-Crocknorth-Boxhill-Newdigate-Capel-HMS-Newlands
Pushed on the hills. Due to added loop, was racing the setting sun (rear light flat). Both legs cramped up for 20 mins afterwards standing normally.
