Spinning 2:00 [1]

Experimenting, left leg only clipped, then adding right leg just resting on pedal. The latter would allow road work on flat roads......early days.

Pilates/yoga 10:00 [2]

Plus 10 mins US.

Pilates/yoga 10:00 [2]

Fine, for the basics. Really unsure what the problem is, could be scar tissue/mesh and nerves.

Monday Nov 24, 2014 #

Note
(injured)

Spoke too soon feels like a grade 2 tear! At least I know it's the same issue as in Nov 2012 and know how to deal with it without a physio. Tight hip flexor = iliopsoas tear in lower abdomen.

Note to self - need to restart daily preventitive routine in 2015.

Pilates/yoga 10:00 [2]

Better than expected.

Sunday Nov 16, 2014 #

Stretching/extensions 5:00 [1]

Just 5 mins and both calves were aching in a good way! Mild doms.

Stretching/extensions 5:00 [2]

Warm Up 1:00:00 [1]

Barn Dance - this is by far the hardest workout my calf has had in a year that hasn't been too much. Stiff but barely any soreness the following day a very good sign (sorer on Monday so need to take it easy for a couple of days). Achilles sore but fine on Monady morning.

Stretching/extensions 10:00 [2]

Time for some consistent calf exercises - walking on toes, raises and drop/exts. Been doing these for few minutes a few times a week.

Abdominal area slightly sore, no exercises just walking.

Swimming 5:00 [3] 0.2 mi (24:59 / mi)
(injured)

Pheonix 50m - 200m wu. Felt sore in lower abdomen/groin when I got to the pool and didn't go away. So called it a day.

Suspect this is the early signs of minor tears, had mild pain around navel earlier in the week as well.

Wednesday Nov 5, 2014 #

Swimming 45:00 [3] 1.5 km (30:00 / km)

Pheonix 50m - big turnout, AJ coaching.
300 wu, 100 wd
2 x 100 - single arm 50 - fs 50.
200m at threshold, my target was 4.40, did 4.36 including delay 3s. Improving!
3 x 100 - kick 50, fs 50.
2 x 100 - finger drag 50, fs 50.
2 x 100 - catch up 50, fs 50.
Good session, tried to use drill to improve recovery fs, went up a gear after 200m threshold.

Sunday Nov 2, 2014 #

Swimming 45:00 [3] 1.8 km (25:00 / km)

Pheonix 25m - theme start of 2/3 months aerobic base and 1 to 1 stroke analysis.
450 wuu including pb kicking.
4 x 50 - 25 drill, 25 fs consisting of kick front/back/scull f/scull b.
4 x 50 breathing every 3, 5, 7 & 9 strokes
3 x 300 - 80%, 100%, 80% 1st 300 fs, 2nd pb, 3rd fs
Need to kick relaxed pointed feet together, to get hips up.
Few breaks today, have the speed to keep up but need more breaks than most. Will be interesting to see if the aerobic theme works.

Saturday Nov 1, 2014 #

Swimming 18:00 [3] 0.8 km (22:30 / km)

Lido 14 degs - sun was out and felt warmer, nose clip useless just slid off, nose far too big.
wu - 3 x 40, then 4 x 50 around 56s. 100 wd - 1.57.
then 4 x 100 60s rest 1.57, 1.56, 1.55, 1.51 (without socks) all PBs!

7s quicker per 100 than 7 weeks ago, better still getting faster rather than slower. Goes to show odd drills can be beneficial as felt I had more time and control over catch. Delayed slightly and tried to keep elbows high during pull. Felt smoother and more streamlined today.
