No mistakes and looked like optimum routes too.
Trotted 80% slowly, walking every couple of mins and up hills too.
HR well above target. It appears runnable terrain is "hard work" currently even trotting slowly.

Good course with plenty of opportunties to gain time, and 1st place at easy paced walk.
Mentally needed to do something normal to unwind from so many deadlines and 7 consecutive days of work.
Feeling chesty (clear fluid) last 2 days suggests the cold hasn't helped recovery.

Day 1 of delibrately slow recovery after cardiac ablation. Surgeon very happy with heart and procedure- great start.

Guildford Parkrun - 30.25
Bloody hell, glacial is overstating the pace and HR indicates I gave it a fair go. Had expected 28, so 14.30 for 2.5k was a shock especially knowing I was going backwards- it turned rather rapidily.
Worth finding out how bad things are and a marker for later in the year...

Bordon North - Score Course 32 from 48 controls
Planning route with 48 controls in 6 blocks left me overloaded and spoilt for possible choices. Bitey technique with frequent small errors until halfway when I left a hedge and confused it with another hedge control 300m away. Spent 6 mins crossing & recrossing deep ditches and marshes until I relocated. Only understood error an hour later- real brainstorm.

Note

Pre-orienteering chiro appointment. SI joint despite feeling much better after Sunday took 15 mins to free up which is longer than usual.
Muscles in lower back painful after session and even worse after orienteering- not surprising. Hopefully chiro's good work has not been undone.
