Slow quad recovery attempt from hotel off Isle of Sheppey. 'Bobbing'
Found a nice bit of wood midway.
Ran slightly faster when I realised it was private...

Summerhouse Knott

Leg 2 Premier.

Andy returned a little further back than anticipated but this just meant a few teams to chase rather than being left behind which was preferable to me!

Generally steady (quads were not at all happy, also cramp during night) but fairly safe, having got very lost here in 2015 (?)

#6 Lost all height to the path having spotted runners down the re-entrant who had the lower control, that being the route of least resistance (but a very bad one) [60]
#9 Passed some runners here - did actually navigate from the craggy re-entrant so some credit due perhaps?
#12 Passed by George Stevens here who was effectively cheating having only run M21S the day before.
Rest of run fairly uneventful - west side of area much easier and more about the running.

Beautiful day - shame about the controversy surrounding the other NOC team (and others).

My first visit to High Dam - enjoyed it!

Started somewhat hesitantly to #1.
#2 Took on straight route which went ok until the fence / wall crossing. Rushed from here though and lured too far north by green / open. Couldn't really make it fit but bumbled into circle before Lewis Taylor highlighted the flag by punching [3min]
#3-#5 Struggled to read detail but chasing Lewis seemed to work.
#9 Ended up too high [30]
#11 Dropped a bit low [20]
#12 Low route would have been faster. Then went to wrong drinks control [100]
#13 Straight route best choice I feel, just a bit hesitant in choosing it initially then executing the fiddlier bits [2m 30s]
#17 Banana-ed [40]
#26 Went high when low was better [60]
#27 Went low when high was better [80]
Briefly had some company here.
#28 Missed south [30]
#29 Didn't spot western route which was potentially quicker - hard to know as I was knackered!

Hard to evaluate really - physically felt empty fairly early on but managed to concentrate sufficiently to not do anything too silly technically. Found it very difficult to pick the best route for several legs - perhaps this was just good planning.

Quads aching afterwards - slow trudge up Hampsfell afterwards in an attempt to appease them.

Early finish due to training course permitted an excursion to Burbage (and a bit of Longshaw). Glorious weather. Generally steady. Tackled the terrain a couple of times. Rolling was required afterwards.

Pleasant evening again. Wood was grottier this week but only really dipped in and out of it - hence the good pace. One control seemingly misplaced but the flag was obvious.
