WU/WD 5:44 [2] 0.5 km (11:28 / km) +74m 6:35 / km
shoes: Integrator March 2015

This has got to be one of the slowest WUs ever recorded! Bit of climb I guess.

Re-run of NGOC Knockalls Blue from December '15

Because I didn't get enough hills yesterday?!
Quite a way off the pace of the best on the day - to be expected.

Sugarloaf (Black)

Beautiful woods and open areas, if a little steep. Well planned by rcro so that most climbs were gentle though - appreciated.

#1 Was just below platforms looking to right for control but hidden behind fallen tree. Twigged when I spotted quarry beyond [45]
Pretty clean through the next section.
#10 Spotted 4min man (Lindsay?) ahead which gave me extra impetus up the hill to catch and pass him by #12.
At this point gained a tail in the form of Paul Murrin (Brown). Stuck behind me through taped section and then to #14 he took a similar route up the hill, surprisingly only passing me when we got on the path adjacent to the fenced enclosure. He then disappeared off to the left after a bit and I assumed he had a different control but it appears he was just going walkabout! My split (+1.23) may suggest that this was the best route?
#16 Took a high line but not convinced it was the best route given unnecessary extra climb.
Generally everything was flowing nicely until #28. At this point I got end of course syndrome, stopped reading the map and just headed in the vague direction of the control. Spotted fence, knew something was wrong, saw flag, relocated on platform... Could have been costlier [45]
#29 Still a bit shaky [15]

All in all a decent run, enjoyed :)

Pwll Ddu

This had the potential to be a great little race. Ultimately it was fairly straightforward technically and significantly too short.

Lost a little time at #1, #11 and #16 but generally just not quick enough for a race such as this.

Picked up another mild illness, but not really affecting my performance as far as I can tell...
