Orienteering race 32:31 [3] 4.61 km (7:03 / km) +131m 6:11 / km
shoes: Integrator Oct 2013

EPOC Night Storthes Hall.
Pleasant little area. Course a bit short.
Bearing to #1, but drifted high, distracted by others lights (45s). Found it first after dropping down a bit, but in my attempt to leave the control without attracting too much attention, didn't check the number.
#2 Seemed a long way but no problem.
#3 Went slightly south but still through the fight - might as well have gone straight (30s).
#4 On this leg it occurred to me that I might not have been to the correct #1... visiting #4 instead. It seemed familiar when I got there and I was 75% sure that I had mispunched. However, carried on regardless.
#5 Dithering over whether to redo the first loop I wasn't paying attention and drifted too far south (45s).
#6 Questionable straight route (path?) and initially looking on the wrong side of the thicket (why would the flag be placed on the side of approach? 20s).
#7 Ok!
#8 Went fairly straight and was quick, but turned the wrong way upon hitting the ditch (1m).
#9 Path.
#10 Stuck in grot (15s).
#11 Careful.
#12 Again, being safe.
#13 Took the 'massive' path, but it was really hard to follow and undulated a lot. Field better? (20s).
#14 Could have gone straighter. (20s).
#15 onwards trivial but fun!

Over 4 minutes of errors there, but it was tricky to hit everything spot on. 3rd of 37 (+1), but to be honest anything was a bonus after leaning that I hadn't mispunched #1!!
