Orienteering 4:24:15 [3] ** 10.93 mi (24:10 / mi) +687m 20:13 / mi
spiked:11/11c shoes: Salomon XA Pro 3D M+ 11.5

Clearing out 11 of the remaining rogaine controls with Aragorn; some walking and some jogging. I was stiff but loosened up after a few miles. It was a nice, warm day to be in the woods and we took time to stand and listen to the stream, look at wildflowers and fiddleheads, and to climb the firetower for a relaxed view (the top step inscription was a bonus during the rogaine but looking around just didn't happen during the race).

The last run on these shoes!

After a week of having a cold and still having a sore throat, I pushed out and at least put in the week's long run (peer pressure from OJoy probably helped too). My goal was 100 min and at least 12 miles. I realized very early on that I still had no energy and the pace was lagging. As I wanted the distance of a healthy 100 min, I tacked on about another 10 min. It was nasty running by the end.

This was harder than planned. I meant to do Brenda's exercise: 3x(4:30 @ half-marathon pace+30 jog)- 1 min walk - repeat the first set of three.

I misheard so the jog was a walk but, more importantly, I also didn't think about how Garmin dealt with the average pace.

Race pace is, a bit optimistically, 7:30. I ran this across the repeat segments but that meant I went much faster than 7:30 during the run segments.
