TOTNT Thursday (2nd go at the new rally route)
Left nothing out there tonight ..."Gold, Jerry... Gold!" Felt really great throughout and pushed whenever I felt I was backing off too much. Was rather sketchy with the ice patches; almost had two severe crashes. With ice/snow free conditions this kind of effort will result in a sub 25min, so feel I should extend the rally route a bit. Just limited by the space, unless there's some double backing in there somewhere.

West Loop: 12:47 (Cm. 12:47)
East Loop: 12:29 (Cm. 25:16)
UOTV Loop: 2:54 (Cm. 28:10)

Running (Commute) 21:00 [2]

Running (Commute) 15:30 [4]

Zone 2/4 - About halfway home I decided to pick it up at the one climb I face enroute home; I felt so good at the top that I continued to push a zone 4 for the remainder. Regardless of the pack being reasonably light (change of clothes, cell, wallet, keys, etc), guess it impacted me as my back feels a bit strange this evening.

Cycling - Trainer warm up/down 26:00 [2]

w/u, c/d, plus 2min floats between climbs

Cycling - Trainer hills 20:00 [4]

4x 5min climbs with 2min recovery between each

Running (Commute) 20:00 [2]

I know, I know.... "TOTNT Intervals Tuesday", but I had absolutely zero energy for anything further tonight due to a really long day and a crepe dinner being just about ready when I walked in the door.

Running (Commute) 23:00 [2]

Very heavy legs this morning, felt I was crawling to work (maybe that's just the dread of it being Monday morning)

Orienteering race 1:11:09 [3]

Paid for yesterday's run with very exhausted legs today. Part way through the first map (~20min into the race), felt horrible and ready to pass out. That in combination with my hands being about to fall off I decided I'd drop at the map exchange. However, once there I changed my mind as I figured best to atleast get in the technical training even if I'm walking (plus the blood circulation had finally reached my frozen hands).

A good race by Mick had me chasing towards the end, yet the gap remained constant. Gave him congratulatory remarks in passing as he came out of the second to last control, knowing he'd bettered me. In retrospect I feel tremendously quilty now as Mick then forgot about the "go"-control and headed straight to the finish. Had he stayed his course he would have finished 7th instead of me, maybe even a rank higher given his 30sec gap on me going into the last control. Regardless, Congrats to Mick on an awesome run!

Running long 2:16:00 [3]

Felt reasonably strong today, must have been the rest I've had all week. A quiet run consisting of only TVP and me. Very tough in the deep snow, was reduced to a walk for a 10m stretch on K2 due to an unavoidable knee deep snow drift. We managed to match last week's time for the same course, so will put it up a zone from last Saturday.

Very snowy out there this morning (haven't run since the big dump on Valentines).

Hard-Core Friday
ahh... a Friday night to myself, what's a guy to do? crack a beer, set-up dual laptops, fire up an action video on one and Shepley's Hard-Core Abs DVD on the other.

Beer + action movie + Hard-core DVD ...makes the workout much more fun.
