Running warm up/down 35:00 [2]

Warmed up twice with the delayed start and then used the middle distance race as a warmup for the Sprint

Orienteering race 39:23 [4] *** 5.2 km (7:34 / km)
spiked:13/16c

Knowing Eddie was starting 2min behind me, my goal was to not see him as long as possible. Unfortunately, a complex map section into control #5 caught me in its trap and Eddie was on me shortly thereafter. Then I couldn't block him out until he finally lost me around control #14. So much harder to orienteer when others are around... really need to work on that (although not sure how t0 work on that).

Should have run reverese throught the finish shoot for the final control... I debating but then thought I shouldn't only to be in almost head on collisions as I was on the way to finish with those starting behind me. Realized that this is fair game.

Orienteering race 12:23 [5] *** 2.6 km (4:46 / km)
spiked:7/8c

A bit of a bobble on control #7 as I tried to orienteer around a couple of small hills only to take myself too far off the line. Really not worth it and should have plowed through the hills (well okay... over them).

Event: Gator Cup

Orienteering race 1:50:47 [4] *** 14.7 km (7:32 / km) +390m 6:39 / km
29c

Don't have the map in front of me to recall my race. I seem to recall a fairly consistant performance, despite my panic start of forgeting my proper shoes and then realizing that I didn't have my SI card on my finger at the startline and having to run back to the car. Unfortunately the shoes I ended up having to race in are very low end casual shoe made to look like trail shoes... needless to say they have almost zero tread, could not be tightened up that much and blister the ba-geeezz out of my feet. So overall pleased with my ability to shut out and still race hard.

Mtn Biking tempo 1:52:00 [2]

Out for a ride with a visiting 'city-slicker' wanting to hit the trails of Hilton Falls.

Running warm up/down 35:00 [2]

Pre-sprint warmup and post-sprint control pick-up

Orienteering race 14:38 [5] ***
spiked:5/6c

Eliminator Sprint: Huge error in reading vegetation on a leg (3 to #4). Lost a good amount of time digging into a patch of dark green (hoping to come out the other side), then finally decided that I wasn't going to come out the otherside and so had to back track and recover (~1min lost). Otherwise felt strong and ready for the G.Cup.

Running 22:00 [1]

Took Superfly George out for his daily excercise, before heading down to Chedoke for TNT.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]

Running intervals 32:00 [5]

TNT intervals with Sudden and Snipes on top of escarpment.

3min on, 1min off, X4
2min rest
3min on, 1min off X3

Sudden seemed to be on fire as I struggled to keep him in sight on most intervals.

Running 58:00 [4]

Felt really tired today, but forced myself out as by Wednesday I'll have to tapper for the Gator Cup. Felt good once out and about, even despite the bugs. Can't wait to get back to BC, before the real swarms of deer and black flies start appearing here.
