Still out of shape. My original plan was the same as last year, run the first 10K then walk the last. The course was short this year so I changed it to run with the crowd to the first control then navigate myself. I was the back of a pack to the first control. Then I started navigating. Ian was leading the group I was with but he was slowly pulling away. I saw him leaving 8. I wasn't sure if he skipped 7 or just messed up. Apparently he messed up. I lost time on the final approach to 14. I was with Jon Torrance 11, 12, 13. He turned to 17 and I turned to 14. I then got confused by the stone wall that you can't see on the map (it is there but under the cliff and control line). Jon caught back up and passed me while I was wondering where I could be as there was no wall anywhere. Screwed up 17. I got confused on the trails and when I saw every one coming down the hill the realized I was by 14. Cut a hill too soon on 19 but didn't lose much time on it. I was slow to 20 and 21. I needed a bathroom break but managed to keep going. Skipped 24 but I was moving so slow then it probably doesn't save much time.
