Orienteering (blue) 1:58:58 [3] 10.0 km (11:54 / km)
shoes: O' Icebuds 2014

Blue course at Hilton Area, Patapsco State Park. The park was still buried in snow. I would say there was a good 5-6 inches of semi compact snow. the top layer was soft but the middle had a crunch layer to break through. it made it very hard to run through. It was harder to walk through but to tiring to run. It was a no win situation.
On the way to control 2 after breaking my own snow path I was wondering how far I could make it before I would have to quit. I wasn't sure I could make it the whole 10K. Fortunately I then joined up with the ultra path and they had cut a trail enough. the snow did change the complexity. Places I would have taken a different route I went the longer way to get the use of trails where the snow was already beaten down. In one case I followed a deer path because then had already packed down the snow some.
Overall, I was happy. I finished the course. I navigated well but didn't really have to pay that much attention given that I mapped the area recently and had tracks to follow for much of it.

Other (Snow shovelling) 1:30:00 [2]

We got 7 inches of snow. Volleyball and indoor soccer were both cancelled. After it was done Darcy and I went out and snow blowed. Darcy snow blowed the first part then I did the court area. I wanted to use up the gas in the blower so just kept going until I ran out. Then I had to drag it back up the driveway. I was just about to come back in when the snow plow came and plowed in the court. Fortunately, we had cleared most of it so they couldn't block us in the way they normally do. I went back out and cleared up the plow work.
