Orienteering (sprint) 37:04 [3] 4.4 km (8:25 / km)

Summer Series. Nadim set a sprint like course that was longer than a sprint. I started off strong but then started making mistakes. on the way to 4 I got confused and after running by 4 ran on to 13. then ran towards 14 only to realize I wanted to go to five. Later in the same area I again ran to the wrong control.
On number 10 I took the direct route through the "pass through" but there wasn't a pass through so I had to run around the building.
Two control missing. John Torrance passed me but I made up ground when he couldnt fine the controls. We agreed and ran on. I got ahead of him at the second to last control (the pass through). It was hung high and not low.

Soccer (indoor) 12:00 [4]
shoes: Soccer Indoor Nike 2010

I played the first half on the field and the 2nd half in goal. Our first goal was from my assist. We won 4-2. One of their goals was my mistake while in goal. Just like the English goalie, I started to turn before fully stopping the ball and it rolled off my fingertips and into the goal.

Orienteering (Ultra Long) 1:49:00 [3] *** 10.7 km (10:11 / km) +475m 8:20 / km
shoes: O: Falcons 2008

Ultra Long at Colorado. There was a little problem with a stream crossing. Major rains the night before flooded the stream crossing. They streamered toa new crossing but weren't clear about the rules. I saw one streamer as I approached but no others. I finally saw one by the stream and ran to it only to find they have streamered over the embankment back 50 meters the way I just come. I followed the strreamers around but others just cut across the gully the streamers were taking us around. I lost a bunch of time as a result. There was suppose to be a control at the crossing but it wasn't at the crossing. It was 100 meters away at a gate opening in fence. They put a tent near the control but not at the control. This was the only water on the course but it wasn't at the control and I didn't see it. They put a first aid symbol on the map. I saw the first aid symbol but not the control. I went to the next control which wasn't too far. Fortunately as I was leaving one the people I crossed the stream with informed me that I had missed the control. I was able to go back and get (it only cost me 5 contours of climb and few minutes). I was not happy. Other than water at control three, there was no water on the course. I was not happy. 109 minutes is a long time without water.
The good news is that I beat 2nd place by 4 seconds. Eventhough I was 2nd overall I was first U.S. so took the M45 champion.
