Run (road) 16:00 [3] 2.0 mi (8:00 / mi)
shoes: Nike 2008
Here I am in Woodland park. Went for run to loosen up after last nights game and get used to altitude. I think I may be in trouble. The first 100 meters were slightly downhill and I was thinking this is great. It is a sunny day with a good breeze and zero humidity. Far better than the sweltering 100% humidty back east.
Then I ran out of "stored" air and had to start getting it from my lungs. I was light headed for about minute while my body adjusted. I was also running up hill. the plan was a simple two miles. I decided to run away from town which meant uphill going out and down hill coming back. Eventually I adjusted to the altitude. I was still having to breath really hard for simple run but was managing.
Now that I have finished the dry air is a problem and I picked up a cough. Hopefully, it is just my body's way of getting rid of all the east coast pollution out of my system :)
I have always said there same amount of usable oxygen at altitude as there is in the polluted DC/Baltimore air where I live.
