Orienteering 1:12:07 intensity: (2:54 @1) + (22:17 @2) + (25:36 @3) + (13:34 @4) + (7:46 @5) 3.66 mi (19:42 / mi) +80m 18:27 / mi
ahr:135 max:178 weight:169lbs

ROC Sol-O event at Alasa Farms. Was bad on the first leg as I didn't pay enough attention to the compass and wound up in a stream short of the correct one. Also made poor choices on a couple of the long legs, so had too much climb and not enough trail running.

Coaching 25:53 intensity: (7:29 @1) + (3:49 @2) + (6:46 @3) + (7:49 @4) 1.57 mi (16:29 / mi) +37m 15:21 / mi
ahr:127 max:150

Finally had the first XC meet of the season. New approach for Covid is just two teams at each meet and only 12 runners allowed per race. This was during the Varsity Boys race, and although Victor went 1-2, we went 3-4-6-7-8, and our 6th and 7th guys also beat Victor's 5th for a 28-29 win!

Coaching 29:31 intensity: (14:46 @1) + (2:50 @2) + (8:24 @3) + (3:31 @4) 1.46 mi (20:13 / mi) +35m 18:49 / mi
ahr:116 max:148

Varsity Girls race and Victor turned the tables. Sierra and Shelby went 1-2 comfortably, but Sofia couldn't quite grab 3rd, and since our 4th girl dropped out (passed out) and our other girls were around 28 minutes, we lost 28-31.

Coaching 31:58 intensity: (18:52 @1) + (5:32 @2) + (6:08 @3) + (1:26 @4) 1.52 mi (21:02 / mi) +35m 19:37 / mi
ahr:112 max:148

JV Boys - Victor only had two runners.

Coaching 31:42 intensity: (22:06 @1) + (3:07 @2) + (3:37 @3) + (2:32 @4) + (20 @5) 1.49 mi (21:16 / mi) +19m 20:28 / mi
ahr:109 max:157

JV Girls race - we only had two runners.

Went to Whiting Rd to map out a loop for intervals on Monday. Was hoping to have them finish up the hill on Orange toward the intersection with Yellow, but the Red-Black-Orange loop fits much better for the 1000m and 800m intervals that the groups will be doing.

For the first time I went on the shortcut trail between Red and Orange that I had noticed but never checked. Then I took a bad spill when I failed to see a root (while listening to the Beasties, but not Root Down), so I have a 2/2 jog / walk in the middle of the 3/1s (so then I jogged for 4). Hoping to get to Alassa Farms before the meet tomorrow, so took it easy.

Biking 56:17 intensity: (8 @2) + (53:44 @3) + (1:42 @4) + (43 @5) 14.4 mi (3:55 / mi) +77m 3:51 / mi
ahr:144 weight:171lbs

Got out for a ride after work. Did 4 x 3 min hard effort, but it doesn't show up so much on a bike ride like it does on a run.

Coaching 1:04:24 intensity: (31:25 @1) + (20:23 @2) + (10:55 @3) + (1:31 @4) + (10 @5) 3.48 mi (18:30 / mi) +66m 17:29 / mi
ahr:100 max:153 weight:171lbs

Moving around during XC practice at Webster Park. Had to measure some parts of a course for 1.25, 1 and 0.75 mile tempo runs for the different groups. Between doing those forward and backward, the kids hit the hill from the pier 8 times (or 6). They got lucky - the wind was blowing hard off the lake (the waves were HUGE), and helped pushed them up the hill (as I discovered when I ran up to show them where to end).

ahr:128 max:186 weight:171lbs

Moving around during XC practice. I set out a 1000m course around the western trail loop and campground road so the studs could do 1000s and the rookies 800s.
