Orienteering race 24:37 [4] *** 2.09 km (11:47 / km)
spiked:8/11c

Comments to follow.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 2.22 mi (9:01 / mi)

Warmed up with Nate before the sprint. Afterwards, jogged out and found Zach, and followed him the rest of the way, since it was his first solo effort above White.

Hashing 1:15:00 [2] 6.0 mi (12:30 / mi)

Shiggy-filled hash down in Mendon. Downside was that someone swiped our stocked cooler from the first beer stop. Luckily, it was only the first of two, and we were able to finish a beer at the second stop before getting kicked out of the [private] park - I think none of the members that were with us wanted to 'fess up.

Orienteering 50:52 [3] *** 5.65 km (9:00 / km)
spiked:8/9c slept:7.75 weight:168lbs

ROC training session at Webster Park. We set out 7 controls, did the loop and met back in the middle. I reran my first control, since I had time, and I tried straight vs the original trail route, but was slower.
11:49 to set control, then splits:
6:20, 3:40, 3:10,
3:18, 2:54, 4:15,
2:40, 7:12 (re-run), 5:31 to meeting place.

slept:5.0 weight:168lbs

Up until 2am doing taxes - not bad, considering I didn't find the forms until about 9:30pm. This AMT crap has to stop - my taxes are over 15% higher because of the AMT. Sucks to live in a high tax state (high income tax, high property tax) with 4 kids under these rules.

Easy swim. Collarbone area still sore.

Orienteering 38:57 [3] *** 4.58 km (8:30 / km)
spiked:10/11c

Drove over to Buffalo for their training session at Chestnut Ridge. Jackie had set up a corridor-o - the first half was pretty straight-forward (a ton of beginners showed up for the training and did the first half with the whole map), second half was great practice for me - a park road saved me the one time I unintentionally ran off the map. Pace is an estimate.

Running 43:30 [2] 5.12 mi (8:30 / mi)
slept:6.75 weight:167lbs

Easy run over to the "new" entrance to Bay Park East, then guessed at best route north to main road up to parking loop and home. Nice mix of terrain and trail runnning.

Note
slept:7.0 weight:167lbs (rest day)

Ate too much at brunch to fit in a run before watching (TV) the Sabres trounce the Leafs.

Orienteering race 1:00:45 [4] *** 8.7 km (6:59 / km) +150m 6:26 / km
spiked:8/10c slept:7.0

Cruised over to Syracuse for the CNYO meet at Green Lakes State Park. Nice course for me - plenty of running thru rough open land. Went higher than Eric in the reentrant for C1 - based on control description rather than control circle. Pretty smooth until C7 where I was a little slow recognizing the open area backstop. Only other significant error was popping up the hill a little early to C9, and taking a bit of time to recognize that I needed to run along the ridge with a trail to catch me.
Splits:
7:05, 12:43, 15:51
22:56, 27:30, 33:04
41:07, 47:58, 55:21
60:36, 60:45

Running warm up/down 34:00 [2] 3.78 mi (9:00 / mi)

W/up 12 minutes, then ran (memory-o style) the first half of yellow and back for 22 minutes as a warm-down.
