Running long 1:27:20 [3] 9.84 mi (8:53 / mi)
rhr:50 slept:8.0

I found a running partner to do my long runs with and we just did our first run together. It was great running with someone, makes it so much better. We kept a good pace for the first 7 miles, but I got more tired than usual for the last bit. Don't know if it was overdressing for the expected cold weather, or if I hadn't recovered from my skiing yesterday.

XC skiing (classic) 1:12:48 [3] 6.62 mi (11:00 / mi)
rhr:46 slept:8.0

Went out to Great Brook farm again and did some skiing. Thought about going to the ski-O but I don't have either skating skiis or trained any skating. That is something I want to start with though. I think I will stick with classic style this season and then look at what skiis I need next season. Skating skiis are definitely on the top of the list.

Running intervals 30:00 [4] 3.9 mi (7:42 / mi)
rhr:52 slept:7.5

Seems like the New Years resolution makers have abondoned the gym. There was a lot fewer people around, and I could get a treadmill right away to do some intervals. It was tough in the beginning with the run yesterday, but it got easier.

Warm-up 3 minutes at 6.5 mph. 6 sets. 7 mph rest periods for 2 minutes. 9 mph running periods for 2 minutes. 3 minutes cool down.

Strength 35:00 [3]

Sit-ups - 25lbs, 45-degree Hyperextension - 10lbs, 45-degree Hyperextension Side, Lat Pulldown - 80 lbs, Bench Press - 95 lbs, Plank, Pushdown (cable) - 110 lbs, Seated Row - 80 lbs

rhr:48 slept:7.5

With the small amount of data I have, it seems like I have a Resting-HR of 48 whenever I have had a rest day, then it goes up to 52-54 the day after a training session.

Running 55:47 [4] 6.68 mi (8:21 / mi)

It is funny how the times I feel the least motivated/hesitant to run, that those times are the times I usually get good runs in. The usual loop from my house with a time that is pretty close to my fastest ones, but I consider it great due to the snow and slippery conditions. The loop is very hilly.

I didn't dare to drive to the CSU training today, due to the rain/snow/ice mixture. I just have to make sure I go to the next one.

rhr:54 slept:7.5

Taking the opportunity to ski before the rain tomorrow. A little bit slow after the long run yesterday, but I just enjoyed being out skiing in some great conditions.
