Orienteering (summer informal purdown) 45:52 [3] 8.38 km (5:28 / km) +194m 4:54 / km

BOK summer informal at purdown , matt whipple was planning and he planned an interesting and new to me dumbbell 45 min score event.
it most certainly made purdown more interesting for orienteering. made a big pre race mistake of wearing shorts , whenever i run round purdown its always fine , but i think i fail to realise just how many stinging nettles there are hidden in the long grass :L anyway legs got chewed by brambles and stinging nettles , terraflys were lacking in grip in places too , but i dont think these two things made me lose much time as it was a ridiculously hot and humid day :L
went of steady testing the cold , thinking i got the best route round them , lost a bit of time on one on a spur , both going in and going out , by getting confused with the map +2 mins , also one was in an area covered with stinging nettles and i altered my route to avoid going back through them +1 min , apart from that it was enjoyable , if i was fit and my run had been clean i think i could have maybe got them all , but in the end i got 331points , i missed out one 10 points easy dumbbell , and lost 9 points for being late.
was good fun , really felt like i was dying on the last hill at the end though , had to walk , think i need to get a bit of training in before the swiss :-)
