Nice Green at Hibernia. Felt pretty good after this course, as I made less mistakes than I usually do, and tried pushing a little harder physically.
1-always need some time to get my head in the map, had some hesitation believe it or not b/c the roads on the map look equal but in reality one is much smaller
3-this was the nicest section of woods for the day (thought about using the trail but it was a sheet of ice.) went down the hill and headed north to the trail, found a log to hold on to to cross the stream and at one point even sat on the log and shimmied so i wouldn't get my feet wet. i know, wuss.
4-took my time (too much time) on this control. there seemed to be more watery ditches in reality than on the map, and i ended up losing my pace count, but luckily there were lots of other features like the swathe of rocks and then stone wall to catch me. really enjoyed this control.
5-slow in the brain on this one, went to the upper trail around the picnic area thinking i might go through woods, but then realized the woods were not the option and headed back down, thinking, duh. should have just stayed low.
7-also really enjoyed this control, on the hillside near the creek.
all in all, a nice (if not a little brisk) day in the woods. thanks to all who volunteered.
