Orienteering race 54:37 [3] 5.75 km (9:30 / km)

QBIII - Day 2 at Tree Cave Track
First control was a termite mound in a flat area with a few other random termies - very much a bingo control. Was lucky enough to be led into control - others took 10 mins for a 250m leg!!! Lost some time to 3 where I got slightly confused with tracks. Used tracks as much as possible as white was not as runnable as expected. Nearly came undone between 6 to 7 when I lost confidence just north of control and thought I was still one gully short. Lost time climbing down some rockface and after some more scrambling through the bush I finally got to 7. Could have gone more direct for some legs, but must have done ok as I did same time as fastest M55. Yeah.

QBIII - Day 1 at Chevalier College
Took me forever to find start to control 1 by which time I started a less optimal route choice. Took a crap bearing to 4 and ended up about 100m west of control. Lost about 1:30 mins ... did ok through the technical building stuff except from 7 to 8 where I missed the steps to go downstairs and ended up going the long way. All up happy with run with plenty of room for improvement.

w/u with Maggie for about 5 kms, then 3 x 1km tempo efforts on ridge 4.56 - 5.02. Tight achilles after Sunday (taped badly)

w/u, drills, set of 100s and 200s ... thought arms were going to fall off. Thrilled when I finished.
