Kirkby Moor loop clockwise. Winds from the SW gusting to 40mph. Wearing 3 layers + bottoms + hat but still a cold head when running into the wind.
Helped to push me up Out Park & not too bad descending and then really helped push me up towards windmills around Brunt Riggs & heather corner. Somewhat sheltered on traverse of Gunson Height but brutal last section climbing up to Shooting House Hill.
Into the wind next and felt like I was running at a stand stll until I lost some height from the ridge. Across the river bottom very dry like the rest of the area and then back into the wind on climb to car.
Very happy with the feeling in my legs and the time.

Bigland Tarn loop starting by heading towards stables & around tarn. Strong cold wind so windstopper top & fleecy leggings. Coming out of NE meant into the wind along road section towards Greenhurst and across High Cark allotment. Again on final section around fishing tarn. Much faffing at some of the gates.

Had it in my head I had done this sub the hour but on checking found that time comparable to last time in much cooler conditions today.

Start up past Old Hall Farm & Hollowmire, cut across to Lowick Bridge & up east side of lake to start. Cool in the shadows going up east side. Coniston, Torver, Water Yeat, Blawith, back up from Lowick Bridge to Woodgate, Broughton Beck & back.
Was reasonably steady up to Coniston and worked much harder on the west side.

Circuit Training 20:00 [3]

Found a HIIT workout online.
Managed the Warm Up (although had to research the Bear Crawl).
Managed 2 circuits of the activities - not liking the reverse plank - low motivation.

Warm up: 5 minutes
1. Cat Cow Stretches x 10 – gently stretches and wakes up the spine.
2. Air Squats x 15 – activates and boosts blood flow to the lower leg muscles.
3. Deep Squat Hold – activates and stretches glutes, hamstrings, calves and lower back, promoting a full range of motion.
4. Bear Crawl Hold x 30 – activates and engages core muscles.
5. Walk out x 8 – stretches out and engages lower back, glutes and legs, activates the core.
6. Jumping Jacks x 1 minute - warms up knees, calves and feet and raises the heart rate.
Main Workout: 15 minutes
35 seconds on
10 seconds off to transition to next movement
x 5 rounds with no breaks
1. Kneeling Up & Down to Jump Squat - Builds strength and explosive power while helping to improve endurance and running economy. Boosts core and single leg stability.
2. Burpee Variations – delivers full body conditioning, particularly engaging quads, abdominals, hamstrings and glutes, strengthens lower back.
3. Walk Outs into Push Up – Boosts core stability, improves upper body strength promoting better running form.
4. Reverse Plank Knee Raiser – Targets, glutes, hamstrings, abs and triceps and helps strengthen lower back for stability.

New route - Park near Red Syke Bridge just outside Lindal. Due south on Green Lane, back NW to Candle Factory, south again to Dalegarth farm. Young cows very interested in me & came charging across the field :-(.
Up to Verstone Cattery and then Green Lane that runs around edge of Urswick Crag Common - bordered by mass of wild garlic. Then through the woods, across normal large field of cows and back to bottom of first Green Lane to retrace my steps.

Happy to stretch the legs as calves sore after yesterday on the tarmac.
