Bigland loop - out towards observation platform, around fishing tarn, footpaths through Seattle Plantation to High Cark. Across Cark Hall allotment to Greenhurst & along road to Grasgarth. Path through woods to Bigland Tarn and back along road from stables.
Cold breeze but happy to reacquaint favourite old haunts.

Grizedale CSC - Green Men M60+. Clean run as far as spiking the controls in the circle. Off line mid-leg to #7. Caught Martyn Roome at #9 and stress of trying to push on meant I banana'd #12 a bit, and majorly coming out of control #12 - 45deg off. Swung by finish but used rides to mitigate time loss to #13.
#14 & #15 ok to finish - splits say 4th of 29 so ok result.

Kirby Moor loop in near 50mph winds. Blown up OutPark & again up to Windmills at Brunt Riggs. Struggled a bit through heather corner and then started to feel wind along the back of Gunson Height, which was saturated underfoot. Into strong head wind climbing & descending Shooting House Hill, and finally climbing back to the car.

Graythwaite collecting in kites used for Wrekin coaching. Very wet to start then turned into a pleasant afternoon. On final stretch back in managed to fall over and dead leg right thigh on a large rock. Have to see how painful it is tomorrow.

Worked all day in Haverthwaite - very tired to start and the feeling never went away. Jogged from Backbarrow down to Low Wood, stumbled up Trundle Brow and bailed at High Brow Edge. Down and across river (still very full).

Shake out around Bigland to see if calf happier. Parked at top and down road to stables, then tracks around Bigland Tarn. Through woods (big climb to avoid large enclosure) until reached top road. Along tracks to south of Otter Tarn and then circle tarn too low. Eventually found lodges and walked the climb back to the car.
Calf not too bad - lovely sunset.
