Training map 6 in Harriman st park. Jan joined us so we had two maps so we all did memory O. It was a blast and the weather was awesome. This was after our tour this AM of the Martin Guitar Factory. This was my second time and a really cool tour of them making guitars. Highly recommended even if you don't play.

North American Sprint Champs. Tried to avoid running past everyone and walkway to finish, so I tried to be tricky and it was a bad move. The rest of the course went ok till I passed up my control to punch the wrong control. MP....done..put a fork in it.
Went to my friends place for dinner and night.

North American long o Champs. Redemption for yesterday. Looks like 3rd place 13 seconds behind BP. I tried to stay focused on the long legs. Map seemed much easier to read today as there was no rain. Great course and lots of tough comp.

Middle distance North American Champs or chumps for me. Could be one of the worst meets I have run in years. Started out taking a trail around to no.1 and then could not read the map very clearly for most of the rest of the meet. Actually no 6 and 8 really bad, had to relocate big time 22 min control.
So put this one away and move on to the next meet.

Training map 4 polebrook mt. The training was intervals meaning you went to start And did either 3 or 4 controls and then go to another start. Well Harriman can chew you up and spit you out. I messed up 6 of 30 controls, losing a bit of confidence and a pair of pants getting ripped up. But there were some good navigation spots and some poor. It really is the way I read the map of course. Perfect weather today and the colors seem to be getting better in just the short time here. Chris and I found a great place to camp out .

Westmoreland Sanctuary training map 9. This was an awesome map and cool course. First mistake was being at 16 and thinking I was at 17 going to 18 woops. Then looking fro 17, I run into Chris who started 3 min before me. 17 seemed to be missing tape. Then my other big flounder was trying to be tricky on 20 and losing 5-6 minutes and having to relocate.
Overall a very nice day after pouring rain yesterday.
