Middle Head
What a great area, so much fun amongst the gun emplacements. Despite being told about the 1:2000 map inserts I made my life difficult by totally ignoring them! Needless to say I struggled with the first control trying to read the 1:4000 map. Manage to catch Ian Jones up by 17 then totally blew it at 24 where I couldn't find the direct path to 25 binning 1.50 by going around the open. Rounded it off by heading straight towards the finish rather than 26 so lost even more time - is there a lesson to be learned? Thankd Andy for the course.

Mermaid Pool (Manly Vale)
Another average run. Couldn't decide which way to go, finally deciding to go anti-clockwise, not sure it was the best way to go (5,15,4,21, 24,12, 22, 23, 13, 30, 7, 16, 26). By the time I was heading up to 18 it was getting dark as the storm started to roll in, 28 was ok. Real problems with 19, so tempting to run across the school playing field. By the time I was looking for the path to 25 the light was fading rapidly so it was slow going along the bush track. Grabbed 14 on the way in to finish just over 2 mins late to end up with a lowly 390. Good course on a new map.
