Usual run down to Sydney Park and two clockwise laps. Given the smell it must have been popcorn making time at the Real Foods factory on the south side of the park.

Orienteering race (Metroleague 3) 48:21 [4] 6.68 km (7:14 / km)

Cattai South - Div 2
Given the warning by the organisers of excessive lantana growth, overgrown paths and out of date mapping I wasn't exactly looking forward to this event. However in the event the planner did a great job setting some challenging courses which certainly made you think. I was okay through the first 4 then lost about 3 mins at 5 where the gaps between the dark green didn't match. Steady through the technical section then blew it a 12 completely where I missed the track running south and ended up doing a loop around the marshes. I should have stopped when I realised my error and double back rather than continuing on.

Not feeling too drained after yesterday's Pilates so no excuse, especially with the forecast rain for the next few days. Down to Sydney Park and two anti-clockwise laps battling against the multi-school x-country which was running in waves the opposite way. Some rain during the second lap but dry back at work.
Edit: The x-country was Bligh zone for high school age kids, the standard didn't seem very high.
