Orienteering race (Sydney Sprint Series) 18:12 [4] 3.89 km (4:41 / km)

UWS Parramatta
An ok run but never thought I was going particularly fast. This was highlighted as Undy was closing on me and finally caught me at 14 where I wasted time looking for the control in the gap between the building east of where I should have been. Probably a sub-optimal route choice from to 5 where I ran over the grass which was very squashy. Good fun as always except for the "making up the distance" legs.

Easy run down to Sydney Park and random run around the park trying to follow the chalk arrows of the weekly Park Run. Managed to link the last 3km, would have been easier if I had taken the map.
Note: from the trace it looks as if the GPS took over 2km to work out where it was!

Orienteering race (Sydney Summer Series) 48:08 [2] 5.81 km (8:17 / km)

Bushranger Reserve, Killara
Ran round with Ewan. Not a lot of route choice but plenty of bush running to hold his attention. In retrospect should have given 21 a miss at it wasn't easy to get to from below and spend more than 3 mins getting to it and back. 500 points but just over 3 mins late so finished on 460.

Given the Sydney Sprint Series starts next week thought I'd have a last minute speed session. Measured out 400m (turned out to be 410m) on the bitumen path around the oval in Sydney Park. Two sets of 4 with a minute's rest between them, 5 mins between sets. Alternated direction on every interval.

A lot quicker than on the grass oval in Ryde. Warm up/down 9'56"/14'06", total moving time 38'16".

Not all that busy at work so I took the opportunity to get a longer run in at lunch. Work to Centennial Park, one complete lap of perimeter track (~6.5km) and back to work. Very sandy in places, just like running at the beach.
