orienteering race 39:03 [3] 5.0 km (7:49 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#6 Fluro)

Note to rest of M50 (except Bill): I did my best, but even the threat of snakes given to Bill as he got his map couldn't put him off. We may have to train up the Jock.

Aus middle champs, Hill End.
Shocking run, working on the start right up until my beep, tying laces retrieving compass, then into gold mining.

Confidence in my map-reading completely shot after not being able to find creek at #1, thinking I'd missed another creek on the way to #2. As a result never felt confident with the map. Walking 1-3 afterwards, the creek at #1 was ... just not there, but could have been some bits of green grass, and the yellow between 2 of the creeks en route to #2 was missing on the map (ie white). So just unlucky I went in with a muddled head didn't focus on the bigger earth features. Couple more huge errors on the way round, 8+ minutes of mistakes.

Will try to get 15 minute break before my start next weekend.

run 28:00 [3] 4.0 km (7:00 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#6 Fluro)

Running tasks between starts and collecting stuff from the area post event.

Aus sprint O, CSU campus Bathurst.
Nice map, good courses but head wasn't in it. Note to self, get a good break between being doings stuff and starting.
