orienteering race 39:34 [3] 6.46 km (6:07 / km) +100m 5:41 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#4 - blue)

Was anticipating having to flog myself around a pretty boring course, but the planning was quite good, some route choices, some slow-down-and-navigate. Tried to run across some long grass early (#3?) having missed the elephant track and lost maybe 40s. Small error en route to #2 and a small extra long grass crossing later was about the worst of it.

The way the results fell, I was happy to crack 40'.

cycling 1:55:00 [3] 58.0 km (1:59 / km)

Attempt at Big Foot Akuna, but had delayed start owing to (a) soft tyre and (b) illicit minecrafting.

Rode hard to get to Snives by 7 but had missed. Rode anti-clockwise and saw Jock first so doubled back with him. The BF peleton came and went extremely quickly.

cycling 50:00 [3] 15.38 km (3:15 / km) +110m 3:08 / km

Bike route all tidied up. Plenty of people with lights these days, so the usual winter drop off is smaller.

run 57:00 [3] 8.0 km (7:07 / km) +234m 6:13 / km
shoes: Asics GT 1000 #3

A lot of debris, mainly branches. Some big trees down. Boat washed up at Greenwich (Gore Creek). Looks like part of a wharf is washed into the bay at Balls Head Bay - also the big yellow bouy I saw a few weeks ago in Gore Cove is now in Balls Head Bay.

Slow going.

You know the weather is bad when indoor soccer is cancelled.

cycling 1:00:00 [3] 16.0 km (3:45 / km)

Very careful ride to work - one tree down, saw 3 other cyclists, two of whom were at the tree at the same time, so we did some bike passing over the trunk stuff. New brake pads were massive improvement - just the fact that the pad touches the rim before the brake lever hits the handle bar is a good thing.

More trees down on the way home, but not so big - came home during the 3pm lull.

cycling 56:00 [3] 15.38 km (3:38 / km) +110m 3:31 / km

Wet. Really wet - 50mm since 9.
On the way home really windy.

For CakeW: black Knicks with Witches britches (GroundEffect), bright orange top over shortsleeved cycling top and armless fleece (Kathmandu), Sealskin sox.
Minimal braking power, had to uncleat and scrape my foot once.

3 other cyclists for the whole return trip.

Note

You know its bad when indoor soccer is cancelled because of the weather.
