Walk around a few controls at Kendal Urban. Calf worse than I can remember after any previous tears. Occasional sharp twinges. Not good :-(

Calf very sore this morning. Bike to the event from Kendal via Staveley and Windermere Golf Club. Calf painful particularly on the hills. Probably shouldn't be cycling. Particularly painful twinge on last hill up to Gummers How.
Disappointed not to be able to run what was probably the best O race of the season. Doubt I'd have beaten Mikey though. Impressive result beating all M20, M45 and 50!

LOC Middle Distance race, Summerhouse Knott. Men'sBrown, 4.7km, 250m.
In frustration decided to give this a go. Strapped up my calf, took 2 ibuprofen and went for it. Calf not too bad for first two thirds but once out on the open bit where you needed to speed up it got really sore. Finished feeling like I was almost hopping. Carried on partly because it was such good fun, partly because i'd caught Wardy 4 mins (at no 8) and was on for a good run. No chance of running tomorrow whatever. Pleased to take the win but only time will tell whether it was worth the damage caused.

Golf (again). Carr Bowl knockout matchplay comp. Lost 5 and 4. Given I only got 3 strokes to a 15 handicapper, that's not as bad as it sounds.
Calf sore walking around the golf and particularly on the stairs. Looks like my bike will be going to the Lakes this weekend :-(

Up Ramsden Clough and back. I nearly decided to play safe and not run today. I really wish I had. Slipped on a slab of wet rock and bashed chest. Worse still, I felt my left calf go again on my way back (30 mins). I think it might be slightly lower than the last pull and hopefully just scar tissue but that may just be wishful thinking. Ice after.

Pro's Golf comp. Scored 37 points (21 of them on the last 7 holes!). My driving was letting me down mostly.
Edit: came 5th. Winner got 41 so just 1 point on each of my blob holes would have done it.

Along the county boundary from Holme Moss and back. Lost a little coordination in the terrain but otherwise all OK. Fingers crossed for the weekend again...
Another 3 x 10 calf exercises. Feeling stronger. I think I'll try doing these regularly even when not injured.
