Orienteering race 34:41 [4] 3.5 mi (9:55 / mi)
shoes: Innov8 X-Talon

EBOR Middle Distance, White Cliffe Rigg and Givendale. Brown course, 4.9km, 115m.
Not a promising area but the planning made best use of it and with lots of short legs (24 controls) and changes of direction you had to keep concentrating. I enjoyed it and had a very good race apart from no.1. Turned off the forest road too early thinking I must have passed the clearing without seeing it. Hacked around in the green for a while before eventually coming out into the white. Lost just under a minute. Finished 9 seconds down on Quentin so frustrating but also quite promising.
Winsplits. It was very close apart from my miss at no 1 and Quentin's at 5:

Orienteering race 51:59 [3] 6.5 mi (8:00 / mi)

EBOR Urban, Thirsk. A Course, 6.7km.
Didn't want to risk my calf running flat out on tarmac so took this at training pace. Had Mikey starting 2 min behind. He passed me for the first time heading to no.4 then again to 8 after he was caught out on the wrong side of the fence at 7;-) I finished over 6 mins down on Mikey and 8 on Quentin. Most importantly calves both ok with no tightness. I'll be racing tomorrow and then again at Interland next week.

Early round of golf with Andy to beat the rain. Played well again (92) despite the wind and won 2 and 1.
Quick lunch and out before the rain: Upperthong, Netherthong, Oldfield, Honley Woods, Meltham Mills and back up Harden Clough. First hour dry then horrible. Calves fine but pretty tired at the end. Walked the last few 100m as a warm down. Definitely need a rest day tomorrow.

Standard Digley, Yateholme, Hades, Cartworth Moor loop.
Decided that it was best not to run after calf tightened up yesterday, even though it feels fine today.

Same run around Silkstone as last week. Right calf tightening up after about 30 mins.
