Note
(rest day)

Tired. Can't remember the last time I ran 30 miles in a week.
Lulu being up all night sick didn't help either.

Orienteering race 41:10 [3] 3.5 mi (11:46 / mi)
shoes: Innov8 Mudclaw

SYO Middle Distance, Loxley Common. Brown course, 4.6km, 215m
Feeling a bit tired today so didn't fancy racing Mikey on Black. Didn't really want to feel under too much pressure to race on the boulderfields either hence Brown rather than Black. So steadyish run but still managed to make a few errors. No 7 didn't know which indistinct path I was on and faffed a bit. Struggled to find a way through the grot between 16 and 17. Lost concentration when I saw Nick between 19 and 20 and overshot. Drifted off line between 25 and 26. Probably about 3 mins lost in total but could have been much worse. Splits suggest I lost less time than I thought; still should have been under 40 mins.

Trail running 30:00 [2] 2.5 mi (12:00 / mi)
shoes: Innov8 Mudclaw

Jog to start and back from finish plus control collecting.

Terrain running 1:25:00 [3] 9.0 mi (9:27 / mi)
shoes: Innov8 Mudclaw

Golf comp in the morning. I was rubbish; a meagre 21 points.
Holmbridge skyline, anticlockwise, with (shock, horror!) Mikey. Strong wind made both golf and running interesting today. Mikey didn't even enjoy the tailwind coming down the edge above Yateholme.
Edit: Mikey now asleep on the sofa ;-)

Mountain Bike 1:55:00 [2] 24.0 mi (4:48 / mi)

Golf in morning in lovely sunshine. Set off on bike in lovely sunshine but it turned grey, cold and windy. Huddersfield, canal tow path all way to tunnel entrance, up Wessenden and back via Goodbent Lodge. Definitely quicker on my new bike.
Calves hopefully ready to run again tomorrow.

Note
(rest day)

Right calf still sore from yesterday's massage.

Terrain running 1:15:00 [3] 8.5 mi (8:49 / mi)

From summit of Holme Moss to Black Hill and back, then Dead Edge End and back. Same run I was doing in the build up to the Scottish 6 Days but much wetter now so pleased to only be a couple of minutes slower. Calves much better in terrain.
Beautiful day again. Thick fog in the valley but came out of it going up Holme Moss and the whole of Yorkshire was a sea of cloud with just Emley Moor mast sticking out. Clear Manchester side though. Only person I met was Amanda who had the same idea.

Note

Another calf massage with Richard. Concentrating on right one which tightened up after trying intervals last week. Some work on left which has also stiffened up since he first attacked it. He showed me a new eccentric stretch to help, but I suspect I'll be back on a fairly regular basis. Sore now.

Trail running 55:00 [3] 6.5 mi (8:28 / mi)

Standard loop around Silkstone on my way home from work. Beautiful sunny afternoon, paths firming up nicely. Right calf tightening up after about 30 mins.
