Orienteering race 1:25:14 [3] 7.0 mi (12:11 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Innov8 Mudclaw

Harvester Relay, Longmoor. Leg 3 for SYO Zimmer Stars. 9.2km, 265m.
Not a good performance. I went out with a 5 minute lead thanks to Mark and Dave but managed to blow it all and more over the first few controls. I reckon 10 mins of mistakes in the first 4 controls. Better after that but still not good. I'm really struggling to see the map at night. I haven't done a lot of Night O over recent years and need to find a better solution to lighting; I'm blinded each time I look at the map and just can't focus (one control near the end I couldn't even work out which side of the track it was on). 20 mins down on Marcus! The rest of the team performed well and, no thanks to me, we pulled off the overall victory in the A class despite being an age handicap team!
Achilles and calves not as bad as feared but bottom of left calf getting quite sore towards the end. Tried to do some warming down to alleviate the stiff calves before the drive home. Ice and stretching once home.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

I had planned to go for a run this morning but both calves still suffering from DOMS. Also the achilles is a little sore, presumably not unconnected.
Stretching and some self massage.

Calfs both tight this morning. Stretching.
Heel raises and ice.

Trail running 1:08:00 [3] 8.0 mi (8:30 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Mudclaw(+orthotics)

South from Kendal on riverbank to Sedgwick, over Helsington to Levens and back via Helsington Barrows.
Achilles great for nearly an hour, but bottom of calf tightening up at the end. Stopped and stretched and jogged the last half mile or so.

Trail running 45:00 [3] 5.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
(injured)

Runchallenge from Holmfirth swimming pool.
Mainly roads but also footpaths around the Netherthong/Oldfield area. Visited 18 of 20 controls within the 45 minute time limit but couldn't find the fire hydrant no at one of them. Quite fun but not worth the £3 entry.
Achilles pretty good even on the road at the end when pushing to finish in time.
