Tour of Holmfirth villages whilst Louise played cricket: Brockholes, Thurstonland, New Mill, Scholes and Wooldale. Achilles great for 45 mins, just a bit sore towards the end, but OK immediately afterwards. Ice.

Achilles has been more unsettled this week and I still have a very noticeable lump where it hurts. Decided to have a go at some self massage/frictions. Ice afterwards.

First round (well 16 holes) of golf at Meltham. Good start but quickly went downhill. I won't be logging golf as training (unlike some Scots M55's!) but do think it's worth noting as 4 hours on my feet will probably mean I'm unlikely to do any other exercise that day. Achilles OK for this.

LOC informal, Holme Fell. Odds and evens score.
I don't like score events and the odds and evens element makes it even more random so worse still. I went for evens first. Forgot to go to no 4 which was right next to 8 and only realised at the point where I had to decide whether I had time to get the furthest even (no 18) before switching to odds. Misjudged the time required and ended up getting all but no 18 with 11 minutes to spare. Still, nice to be out on classic lakeland terrain mid week.
Achilles OK to start with but was sore after a while. I don't think it's getting worse but I need to be careful. Ice when home.

UKOL Brown Clee. M45L 7.2km, 205m.
A little worried about how my Achilles would react after yesterday but it felt OK to start with and no more sore at the end than usual.
Tried to run a bit harder than I have recently and as a consequence my technique was a bit scrappy. I lost contact between 3 and 4 and lost about 2 minutes. Smaller misses at 12 and 15 cost another minute, but the total loss still couldn't account for the distance behind Quentin and Clive. 1st M45 but only 4th on the course. Not particularly satisfying.
