Note

A rest day. I helped my niece pack up her house for a big move next week to a bigger house, which is badly needed now that they have 2 kids.

Then I attended the first session of Richmond Dept. of Utilities' Citizens Academy. It was very interesting! Over the next three weeks, we're going to visit the water treatment plant, the wastewater treatment plant, and the stormwater operations system. Richmond still has a CSO (combined sewer operations), where stormwater and sewage combine and get dumped in the James River in times of severe flooding. Super ick!! They are working on separating the systems!

My interest in this began when I saw these signs on one of my walks:
