Orienteering 59:51 [4]

I ran the Blue course at Fountainhead but had to DNF because I lost a contact lens coming out of #8. A branch just dipped into my eye and whisked the lens out. I tried to fish around in my eye for a few minutes to see if it had just been moved around, but no. And, since I'm fairly blind without correction, I decided not to take a chance at getting hurt for next weekend. I had been doing quite well up until that point...running well and finding all the controls pretty much straight on. And, my ankle didn't hurt too badly, so I felt that DNF'ing was acceptable. I had already found out what I wanted to know.

Running (Trail) 25:26 [3]

Running back to the finish from where I stopped on the course.

Running (Trail) 1:00:35 [3] 5.0 mi (12:07 / mi)

Since I've been banned from PWF due to the embargo, I ran today at Fountainhead Regional Park. I started at the parking lot across from Bull Run Marina and ran towards Fountainhead. The trail is quite nice and quite hilly. It runs along side the Occoquan River, so you hit many spurs and reentrants. It was a bit humid, but I felt fine. Just a few ankle twinges but nothing major. I'll see how it is doing tomorrow morning. No wildlife spotted but a lot of horse poop...watch out!

Cycling 1:00:00 [3]

I had planned on running today, but the time got away from me due to a very busy day at work. I was aiming for an afternoon run, but a line of thunderstorms came through, and then we got word that a tornado touched down about 10 miles from my house, so I thought it best not to go outside. I opted for a session on the trainer instead, watching "ER." I've discovered it's very difficult to train effectively when you're crying your eyes out.

Running 29:33 [3] 3.0 mi (9:51 / mi)

Just a short run through the neighborhood to see how the ankle felt, and it was good. This was a much better run than my last, heat-full one.

Strength Training 50:00 [2]

I was about to head to bed for a little reading, but decided to take a look at AP first. And, after seeing all of the hardcore training going on (in which I have *not* been taking part of late), I decided that I ought to head to the basement instead for a little weight training. A very good decision, if I do say so myself.

Yoga 40:05 [1]

Since I hadn't done this workout in awhile and my ankle is still swollen (yes, I will try to get to the doctor this week), decided to power my way through some yoga. My favorite part is the power relaxation at the end. Very powerful. Yum.
