I have enjoyed the last 18 months of drinking lagers and running when I wanted to in order to not pack on too much weight.
I stopped training properly right back at the start of the pandemic as I’d developed a small sportsman’s hernia and it took a lot of rehab to fix that problem. I then moved to Manchester, started a full-time job and had no motivation to train intensely anymore.
I enjoyed orienteering this weekend but find it hard to be content with fighting for a top 20 result. I orienteered surprisingly well bar a couple of clangers given my lack of o in the last 4 years.
Therefore, I’m going to start logging my training to keep my accountable with the aim of hitting 50mi+ per week in the lead up to the Scottish. With one or two sessions and a long run.
