I wanted to get some time on my feet, so I headed to Lynn Woods to try and circumnavigate the park, including the unmapped northern half. Goal was 2ish hours, and 10ish miles.
I didn't carry water, and forgot how much I sweat when its hot. Super dehydrated and hurting for the last few K. I made it back to the car and drank everything I had, and then got stuck in traffic for 1:30 getting home. Still 6lb light when I got home.
I ran with the friends of Lynn woods trail map, which is mostly useless. A lot of the northern area doesn't get a lot of traffic on the trails, so they are hard to follow, and the map is just wrong. Multiple extra large blazed official trails that are not on the map, or don't go where the map says they do. The woods while still thick up there, have some really nice areas, and I didn't see any green briar north of the reservoir. When you come out to the power line cut, you see all the rocks. It would be amazing to see that on the map. Open yellow covered with a mess of huge rocks!
