Note

I won the sign battle, but it's still not making me feel great. I feel like I'm being guilted into the source of any of the events financial issues. Quite a big deal to make over $300.

Note

"Remember, our mission is to make as much profit as we can from the event and return money to the clubs."

I thought people were paying the highest entry fees ever because they were going to be supporting a great event, instead I can't get the budget to print coroplast signs to give you directions on how to get to parking, starts, etc, and instead the attitude is that all that signage should be laser printed and water resistant paper and taped to things. Good luck finding your way around.

Note

Peter Goodwin is incompetent as OUSA president, and as a meet director for an international event. I never want to work with him again in any faculty. That goes for some other people too, but I feel comfortable at least naming his name here now.

I would love to quit NAOC right now, but I can't figure out a way to unwind my involvement that would be fair to the competitors and provide what they expect from the event.

Orienteering in this country needs to move to more paid professionals providing services to events, but it is important that those professionals actually are professional in their work. I don't think that can be said for everyone in that class right now.

Note

I have restricted my log to just friends. Thats a crappy thing to do, but it lets me rant a bit here with less repercussions, and I need a place to rant, since I think Alex is tired of hearing it.
