Just bought plane tickets to the IOF High Level Event Seminar in Latvia in Feb.
And I get to visit Ross and Sam afterwards!
Travel is going to be a bit of an adventure, since OUSA wasn't interested/didn't have a budget to pay for any of it, so I got the cheapest tickets I could find. Turkish Air through Istanbul, with a 20hr layover, which should give me enough time to get to see some of Istanbul on both the way there and the way back. After the seminar, I'm taking the ferry from Riga to Stockholm, staying there for a few days, then flying back to the US via Istanbul again.
The focus of the event is about how to ensure quality at high level IOF events, via event advising and IT. I'm going to go to the IT track, and hope to pick up anything about how other groups manage to organize the large IT effort needed for these events, keep it all organized, and not piss everyone off.
