Midland Champs - Sherwood

Good no. 1 then totally ballsed up no. 2 and 3, having been on line I got drawn off both times by something!!!! Total 5 minutes lost and caught by Kevin Fielding

Poor route at start of long leg, small misses on 9 and 10, then poor route 10 to 11 - then too far right on both 12 and 13

Caught by Charlie Adams and Kevin Fielding (again)

Ok for rest

Caught by Clive at Charlie Adams (again) at 17 and died on last loop trying to keep with them and ahead of Kevin (did the latter, but failed on former)

Well over 10 minutes lost on this sort of area is appalling (at least getting some remnants of speed back)

British Night Orienteering Championships - Cademan Bramblewoods

Eye test and with problem with lens was not fun

Good for first 5 controls, then just totally lost it on 5 to 6 - looking at GPS turned off one path too soon, lost confidence couldn't tell the difference between paths and walls on the map, found Parkino punching no. 9 so relocated and came in via no. 7

OKish for a few after that - laughable taping to map exchange - why not just put an extra control in?!!!!

Then when got stuck in brambles and mud on way to 17 I had had enough

Actual time out was 77 minutes (time above is moving time!!)

Felt pretty good, especially on hills
