Was only going to do 4, but felt good! 5 x 500m hill reps with easy jog recovery. Proper running, with knee lift and arms; not the long slow shuffle I've come to rely on. Each rep about 2.20 up and 2.40 down. Best of all was the feeling of recovery halfway through the downhill, setting me up nicely to go again.

to Hargroves, with a snapped rear derailleur gear cable. At the risk of their needing the bike for the rest of the week I asked them to replace the chain and rear cassette as well. Would probably have taken car for next two days anyway as weather is pants.

Apart from a more positive attitude and a bit more effort, this was basically a rerun of last week. Felt a bit more relaxed this time, but problem with 'twisted' back and legs persists. Good to have HR up again. Quicker time was just harder work.
