Did this more for love of running than for a decent result/time. Felt well enough to start, but knew I wouldn't be as good as last week. Chest was tight, to the point of painful at times, and as soon as we hit the hills I could feel the lack of O2 in my leg muscles. Nice enough little route, and I can see why someone thought the grounds would be good for orienteering. Other than the cold, everything else OK. Sitting on the grass after I broke into a fit of sneezing that wouldn't stop till I'd returned to the car, changed and cleared out my head. Felt better after that.

Did this because a) I wanted to ride Butser Hill before the sportive, and b) was feeling a bit cooped up indoors getting over infection. Took the Rowlands Castle - QECP route to Butser and seemed to pick up the Pedals for Paws event signage but not riders. Butser was OK on the smallest ring and I had a bar while I enjoyed the stupendous views from the top. After that everything seemed downhill and I was beasting the homeward leg. In Finchdean saw the sign for West Marden and decided to vary the return. Loved this. Gonna miss the bike in the winter.
