Orienteering (Angmering East) 2:30:00 [2] 12.0 km (12:30 / km)

Control checking 40 control sites. Started on Patching side and finished at registration. Move about four a couple of metres, but otherwise not much to do. Frosty but fine morning, but soaking wet underfoot. Nice way of getting in time on my feet a week ahead of the big day.

Collected the seven in the south the furthest away from assembly. Sun was out and the bluebell-filled forest was fabulous. No wonder people enjoyed the day so much.

Four laps of Graylingwell Park. Thought this would be a good way of burning up some surplus energy whilst getting an adrenaline boost. Both hips felt very flakey, but resisted temptation to take an ibuprofen and they were ok while running if a little sore after. Started steady but soon moved into fourth and stayed comfortably there. Had an ex-Flyer on my shoulder but that was just encouragement to run the last lap hardest. Perfect last minute tune up which I enjoyed miles more than I expect I'll enjoy next weekend. Parkrun rocks!
