Last proper training for London Marathon, a Half at race pace, 7mins 30secs per mile. Gave up on the Downs Link after 0.2 miles because of the mud and drove to Okehurst Lane for some very quiet, if undulating, country lanes. Perfect! Starting from the Blue Ship, ran two out and back laps with Jan alongside on the bike and the garmin to check pace. Inevitably went quicker on the downhill sections or where the wind was behind but had a cushion from early on and it was no problem staying inside target pace. Had to get a shift on though and was glad to stop. Felt good at the end for another three or four miles like that, but after, who knows? Hopefully will feel a bit more comfortable on the flat and with all the atmosphere of the big day. Unwelcome shower at one point which made me very cold.
