Brisk walk with Jan to fetch Champers on foot. Via Marringdean, Steepwood, Gay Street, Nutbourne, Broomers Hill, Blackgate, Lordings Lock and Wood. Pint and sandwich at Rising Sun (didn't want to leave). Tired a bit after the road tramp and lower back felt dodgy.

Brisk Good Friday walk with Jan on leg 2 of the WSLT. Graffham Down, Duncton, Sutton End, Sutton, Bignor, Bury, Amberley. Needs two cars. Felt great throughout. Pint and sandwich at the White Horse was welcome. Best of the South Downs on a glorious day.

Road run race (Corporate Challenge 3) 17:12 [5] 4.5 km (3:49 / km)

Wasn't sure about effect of Sunday's big effort, and certainly didn't want to encourage injury. So decided to do first two laps at 18 min pace then see. Went through halfway in 8.45 as I was last and had the tail bike up my backside, took account, and decided I was ok. Gradually increased effort and started overtaking. So stepped it up more. Saw Ben at start of last lap, caught him halfway round, and when I overtook was going much faster. Just kept up pressure after that and got a bit lactic in last 400. Finished in the same time as usual, but given easy start, negative split, and extent of recovery since Sunday, have to be really pleased with that. As usual, such a great evening.

Left hip a little sore in the morning so took an ibuprofen and cycled. Am very pleased with the recovery since Sunday. Hardly feeling it at all! Simply glorious day for the bike.
